Richly lined with both Jacarandas and Oak trees, Cullinan’s main street, Oak Avenue, is a living museum and favourite destination amongst local people and tourists. Interesting selection of unique little shops by the train station in Cullinan. Reasonably priced.
The Voortrekker Monument, located in the Pretoria region of South Africa, commemorates the history and migration of the Afrikaner people. The structure was designed by Gerard Moerdijk and was completed in 1949.
The iconic granite structure renowned for it's Art Deco design commemorates the Voortrekkers that left the Cape between 1835 and 1854. On 16th December 1938, descendants of the Boer leaders laid the cornerstone when the building commences. Later on 16 December 1949, the monument was officially opened.

Few other institutions can claim to be both an eatery and a museum. The butchery is a huge hall housing numerous historical artefacts, from typewriters to radios to musical instruments, cash registers, telephones and bicycles. Talk about a trip down memory lane!
Their most prized item is a Hohner accordion, an article that is so rare, most people believe it has fallen out of existence.
Maders is an institution in Pretoria, having served wholesome pies for over 43 years. Even Pretorians that have never been to Maders know they sell the best meat and pies! Maders is a pillar of Pretorianism.
On any trip to Maders, you go for the pies, but stay for the immersive atmosphere. A wWonderful collection of memorabilia.
